What is the User ID?
The User ID field is the unique identifier by which you will be able to access your personal free-minder.com account. The User ID can be up to 15 characters and can contain a mixture of alphanumeric characters. What is the e-mail Language option? Over time we will add support for e-mail reminders in languages other than English. As we add languages the language will appear in the drop down list in your user profile. After selecting a language you will receive all future reminders in the selected language. What is the alternate e-mail address? In todays world we are constantly finding that more and more people have access to the Internet both at work and at home. In many cases people have more than one e-mail address that they regurlarly use. This facility allows you to specify a secondary e-mail address that can also receive the e-mail reminders you set up. Please be aware that using this option means that you will receive the same reminder on multiple e-mail accounts. What is the password clue field for? This field can be used to store a cryptic clue for the password you have specified. Therefore, if you forget your password we can prompt you with this clue to see if it will jog your memory. If you still can't remember your password you can request that your account details are e-mailed to you. This e-mail will only be sent to the primary e-mail address that we hold for your account. No-one else can request your account details. What is the monthly list of your next month's events? This option allows you to receive an e-mail approximately 1 week before the end of the month, listing all of the next calendar month's events that are becoming due. Therefore, you will be able to review next month's important events in advance. What is the standard set of reminders? The standard set of reminders are useful events relevant to your country. For example, if you are a UK user, notifying you when the clocks go forward for the start of British Summer Time, the last posting dates for Christmas mail, or letting you know when Mothers Day is. The standard reminder e-mail's are automatically sent 3 days prior to the event occurring. Hypertext Markup Language, or HTML is the programming language of the Web. This option allows you to receive your e-mail reminders formatted using HTML rather than plain text and allows us to provide you with a better looking reminder. You may want to check that the application you use for sending and receiving e-mail has this facility enabled. We recommend that you use this option if possible. What can I enter in the Other Event field? The other event field can be used to specify an event that you want to be reminded about, which does not appear in the standard list of events. You can enter up to 40 characters of text. Once you enter a reminder with an event type of other, the text that you enter becomes available as one of your valid event types. The e-mail someone else field can be used to make sure that someone else who you think needs to know about an event in advance, receives the same e-mail reminder as you. This option is associated with a particular reminder, so you can specify different mail mates for different reminders. Your mail mate will only receive the specific details of the event itself and will not receive any text that you have entered in the note field. When free-minder.com sends a reminder to a mail mate, we make it clear to them who requested they receive the reminder. Even though the mail mate reminders are generated and sent by us, it appears as though it has been sent by you. We feel that this is important as your intended mail mate might otherwise simply delete the e-mail without reading it. What should I use the note field for? The note field is up to 2000 characters of free format text that can be used for any comment or note that you want to make to yourself regarding a particular reminder. How far in advance would you like to be reminded? By default we remind you 7 days in advance of the event as standard, but you can select several other options. The options are 14 days, 7 days, 3 days, and 1 day in advance. You can also select to be reminded on the actual day of the event. At least one of the options must be selected, but you could select several options. A cookie is a small file stored locally on your hard drive, which normally contains information specific to a particular web site.
